There are two main types of electric door strikes: monitored and non-monitored.

• Monitored electric door strikes have a built-in sensor that detects when the strike plate is engaged or disengaged. This information is then sent to a control panel, which can be used to monitor the status of the door.
• Non-monitored electric door strikes do not have a built-in sensor. This means that the status of the door cannot be monitored remotely.
